Every day is Earth Day to us. How can you not love our living, breathing, nurturing Mother? How can we ignore her in the revolution of “going green” in order to make more money? Are we missing the point? The Maya became very greedy and their civilizations disappeared, all except for a few who survived by going back to live in the woods in harmony with the Earth. Now, there’s not enough woods left to go back to. We have to accept what we’ve created. Perhaps salvation is now. It happens through us. It’s not some future moment in time. If we wait for that, it may come sooner than we’d like in a way that may not be so comfortable. Going to nature is not only grounding and
clearing; it helps you get in touch with your true self. Take some time
to sit in your own back yard or find a place outside where you can let
go and relax. Get quiet and stop listening with your head and start
listening with your heart. Accept life for what it is. Accept where you
are. Live in the present and find time to practice being still. Learn
to enjoy what you are doing now or walk away from what is making you
unhappy. When we do things with mindfulness and love, we experience
peace and harmony. You can allow any job or relationship to be either
your ally or your enemy; it’s all in how you look at things. The global consciousness seems to be very competitive, everyone is pushing, rushing and for what? What are we pushing so hard to do? Perhaps if we all step back and relax, all the things we really need to do about global healing will come clear to us. When we match our inner spiritual purpose (what our heart wants) with our outer physical purpose (what we do), we become harmonious within ourselves and naturally more sustainable. We consume less so that our individual footprints on Mother Earth are soft and gentle. When we are in balance, it takes very little energy to do what we want or need to do – things just come more naturally. We don’t have to “figure things out”. Perhaps we can ease up on the things that over stimulate our body, mind and soul. How can we hear what our heart is saying if we’re zooming on caffeine, sugar, and electromagnetic energy from all the electronics we’ve come to rely on? Simply go to nature, get clear and the answers will come. Give them time. Instead of concentrating on the green, what if we go beyond that and focus on our very survival? Can we slow down and use a little less? Can we be more responsible for every step we take, everything we consume? Community is true sustainability. For those of you looking to do more to save the
plants, trees, animals and land, see the links to the various
organizations on our website. We have a space of time to change, let’s
all come together and do our part. Remember to be gentle with
yourselves and each other. The more love we put in the pot, the better
the soup! |
