The Doe in the Woods
While walking through the woods, we were surprised by a beautiful doe running solo, dashing across the path right in front of us. She stopped and turned her graceful neck across her slender back. Those enormous eyes were spellbinding and we held our breath while drinking in her gentle essence, awaiting her message. It seemed a long time, standing there gawking at her, gawking back at us. She flicked her tail towards us four times, quickly bringing back a memory from something one of my teachers had said. He explained to me how the jungle Morningstar flower I had dreamt of, carried the same healing energy as the deer do when they flick their tails at you… She waited patiently for me to remember my dream – to create a space where this gentleness could become a sanctuary for those on the path of their personal spiritual healing. Soon after that, another elder told me: “You and the doe share aspects of one spirit – they want to get to know you and you them. Explore the relationship – they can teach you much about yours and their strengths and weaknesses.”

We now share our personal teachings and experiences in nature to help others become more fully grounded in their daily lives. This old salt-of-the-earth work is grounded in common sense and the day to day reality of living life as a human being who wishes to live more fully awake and aware to the beauty all around us. We believe that everything here is part of “spirit”.
